Youth…more energy!

Maturity…I need to rest in this morning to recover from a day of travel.

I waunder the streets a bit.  Main train station at Principio is just down from hotel.  I discover an ancient sailing ship at port maybe a mile walk away.

Close to home is cheap proseco @ 8 euros  and a pres fixe Greek seafood dinner for 14e.  Seafood pasta course 1…seafood salad course 2.

Saturday I walk in search of Via Garabaldi the street of palaces.  Discover a medieval warren of narrow streets and shops.  Official Genova souvenirs include tiles,  olive wood gnocchi board and pestle for making local pesto, and a silver filigree box.  Last of its kind since no one makes those anymore.

The old and traditional exist next to modern and family friendly…half way round the world from home.
